Neoseiulus Californicus – 100x Slow Release Sachet (SPIC1)

£81.00

Neoseiulus californicus is an effective, preventive biological control solution for spider mites. This predatory mite is better adapted to warm temperatures and perfect for preventative control during times when spider mite is at higher risk of establishing and actively moving. This species effectively targets all mite life stages, keeping pest populations in check before they cause damage. With its continuous-release sachets, Spical-Plus ensures long-lasting protection and consistent predator establishment. Controlled pest species, Two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae); European red mite (Panonychus ulmi); citrus red mite (Panonychus citri); other spider mite species including species of broad mite.

100 Neoseiulus californicus sachets. Each sachet contains 100 predatory mites and prey mites. Presentation: Sachets in cardboard box. Carrier: Bran

Technical Comments

If temperatures are exceeding 30 degrees within the glasshouse, Phytoseiulus will stop activity so look to apply Neoseiulus californicus as a preventative if temperatures are persistently warm. Within warm conditions for tall canopy plants N. californicus will have better activity in the upper canopy compared to other predatory mite species. Combined use: Can be combined with Phytoseiulus persimilis and Feltiella acarisuga.

Activity / Control

These predatory mites multiply in the sachet and disperse into the crop over a period of several weeks. They pierce the prey with their sucking mouthparts and suck out the contents. Neoseiulus californicus is most effective at temperatures between 13 and 32°C (55 and 90°F) and is sensitive to relative humidity below 60%. Storage time after receipt: Apply as soon as possible after receipt. If necessary, the product can be stored for 1-2 days. Storage temperature: 17-20°C/63-68°F. Storage conditions: In the dark, provide ventilation to prevent CO2 accumulation.

Application Method

Hang sachets in sheltered locations in the crop, not exposed to direct sunlight Sachets already have an exit hole Hold sachets by the cardboard strip at the top, to avoid damaging the predatory mites

Application Rate

The dosage of Spical-Plus depends on climate, crop and pest density and should always be adjusted to the situation. Start introduction preventively or as soon as the first spider mites are detected in the crop. Use at least 4,000 sachets per ha and hang them evenly spaced in the crop. Release should be repeated after 4 weeks if the pest is not controlled.
