Worms are a gardeners best friend, they are invaluable and always present in the healthiest soils. They work the top layer, feeding on decomposing organic matter, mulch and old roots. They help keep the soil aerated and moist and will eventually turn your container into the best worm castings you’ve ever seen.

The best thing about worms in living soil is they excrete a bacteria layer on there castings which kick starts the soil food web, attracts fungi and gets everything working, even before plants put their roots out.

If you use cover crop or mulch, the worms will work the very top layer of soil creating a layer of fresh vermicompost, already top-dressed for you to water in every time.

Our Soil for Life will contain live worm cocoons but by adding extra to each pot to help the earthworm population get established quicker and get your soil working to maximum potential.

We recommend 50-100g of live worms per 15gal/56l pot.
